Ashley: It’s worse than we thought, there was almost nothing left of our ship. We bailed at the last second, but at officially 176.2 m/s almost nothing survived. I can’t believe those pirates chased us into the atmosphere and then we didn’t have enough thrust to slow down in time and… urg.
Misha: It’s fine, we just need to tweak our rover design a little, at least some nice wolves left us some lithium battery components.
Gwen: Haha they were so nice not to kill us before we shot them to death.
Ashley: That’ll teach them to come up against three armed damsels in distress.
Note: When you kill wolves in this game they’re “mechanical” or they “eat components” and you get a random set of components which can be very useful.
Ashley: Okay, so yes, we need to build this rover… First we need a platform, hopefully out of reach of the wolves.
Misha: Very luckily we had just enough components to build a survival kit. Without that we may have had to restart because we couldn’t even make plate steel without one. So we did that, set up minimal power, and a projector and built that first.
Note: This game will provide more resources in the form of probes that fall from the sky but never certain necessary components. It’s meant to start with a singular survival kit.
Many hours later…
Gwen: After we got setup with the basic means to process stone into metals, we were able to get quite far. The platform over the crater was a perfect defensible space against wolves who thankfully can’t climb or jump.
Ashley: With ice and a few other production buildings, we can make everything we need for the first rover. It’ll just take time.
